Bullet for My Valentine with Bleeding Through

Perhaps Mark was swayed by the intense guitar solos, the insanely fast bass, speed drumming or catchy riffs, he left the Bullet concert and liked it.  He even agreed to see the Dragonforce concert.    It would appear that technical guitar-centered bands have a certain appeal.  That is certainly why I love Bullet.   They have memorable hooks with LOTS of tempo changes and several solos within each of their songs.

I especially loved "Deliver Us from Evil". They performed this track with lots of emotion and audience appeal.  From the slow almost ballad pop-like opening through to the hooky solo which they extended and played heavier making an obvious contrast in styles.   Kudos to Matt Tuck who sounded great performing lead vocals and sharing guitar duties.

The closing song was as predicted "Waking the Demon".   I was a bit underwhelmed from the performance of this number.   Maybe it would have been better in the middle of the set instead of the encore.   It was a bit tired and lacked the power I expected from a live performance of this great song.

The stage show was pretty simple comprised of three raised platforms which highlighted the guitars. Michael Paget had a stumble right on the opening number "Scream Aim Fire"; he fell backwards landing completely on his butt as he was trying to hop up onto his platform.  He did a good job of protecting his guitar through.  Boy that would really suck and I understand it is a pretty common occurence to trip and fall while playing guitar.   I hope I never do that.

I really appreciated the guitar centric style, nice vocals and straightforward approach to their music, this band will likely remain a favorite of mine for a while.
