Staind with Seether and Papa Roach
Mark and I attended this year's Staind show at the Hard Rock Live. I forgot how much I love this venue. We had 5th row seats in the balcony and they were just fine. I would not recommend any farther back than that.
I'm really glad I attended this concert. Even though I haven't listen to too much Staind over the last few years, I was pumped about seeing Aaron Lewis live. I was so crazy over their "Break the Cycle" album, it was actually kind of nostalgic. And of course, I LOVE Papa Roach. I have most of their albums and I do listen to them time and time again
Seether was just sort of the nice to have. Before the show, I liked their stuff, but hadn't sampled any of their albums. They have always seemed just a bit mellow for my taste. After this show, however, I can now confidently say that Seether is quite the impressive band. They were probably the best sounding of the night. Certainly the tightest-but man the holiday lights decorating their set have got to go, very cheesy.
So rather than doing an actual write up of each band, I thought I'd simply list the high and low points of each.
Papa Roach
-Highest energy
-Best able to get the place jumping
-Most fun
-Best reason for attending this concert
Seether
-Best guitar sounds
-Best overall sound
-Able to get me to buy an album
-Most impressive
-Best surprise of the night
-Suckiest set design-holiday lights?
Staind
-Most disappointed but
-Biggest star attraction-Aaron Lewis
-Best voice
-Most sound problems
-Best light show
-Biggest crowd pleaser
