Dragonforce, famous for Guitar Hero's most difficult song Through the Fire and Flame. 

This band was not to be missed.   Guitar players around the world are awestruck by the lightening fast fingers of lead guitarist Herman Li.    In the above shot co-guitarist Sam Totman (left),  Bassist Frederic Leclercq (middle) and Herman Li (far right) make for a mega-talented band.    Playing hard driving speed metal songs, with melodic fantastical vocals there is so much to like about this band.   Some critics compare their sound to Meatloaf and yes there is a hint of that high pitched emotionally charged sound.    However it is the 2 plus minute guitar solos in every track, that make this band stand out in a category by themselves.



Lead singer ZP Theart is just about the spitting image of Sebastian Bach, well at least in singing and speaking voice and on-stage mannerisms.  Wow what a throw back to the days of 80's hair metal.   He was quite the great frontman.  It was especially touching when he brought a 10 year old girl on stage to help him get the crowd going and throw picks to the audience.

The band played for nearly 2 hours, and at that energy and speed it was quite amazing to watch.  What also stood out about this band was their sheer playfulness.   Mark commented how the drummer, the workhorse of the group, had to constantly play double bass drum and incessant 64th notes, while all the guitarists were literally running around the perimeter of the set, laughing and joking, all the while keeping up the insanely fast tempo.  I haven't seen a group of guys look like they were having as much fun. 

I hope this band gets more popular, they have some incredible talent.
