Disturbed Music as a Weapon 4
Destined to go down in Thomason family history as the best concert ever experienced, it's hard to verbalize the intensity of seeing Disturbed in their prime--UP CLOSE. Seats 113 B (9-10) at the Amway Arena --are by far the best way to get close. And close we were. David and Dan were less than 50 feet away. It should be noted here for readers that Disturbed is one of our top favorite bands at the moment, they rank for us with the likes of Tool and for me easily falling into first position. It should also be noted that this concert counts as #5 for this band and for certain will not be the last time we see Disturbed. I can say definitively that unless they start writing tunes I hate, I will likely see this band EVERY SINGLE time they come to town.
Music as a Weapon 4 has been coined as more than a music festival. Featuring 4 main bands and 5 or 6 support bands on the second stage plus world class tattoo artists and extreme motocross, this event was designed to give fans more for their money. (Expressed by David himself on an interview.) Unfortunately the Orlando venue could not support the extreme sports, but nonetheless the outside stage area set up was pretty nice. (except the one bathroom for hundreds of people). The list of support bands was extensive but not being the outside festival type, I made a beeline right for the Marriott next door where they had clean bathrooms and awesome burgers so we missed the entire outside show.
We were joined by our cool friends Gail and Bob whom we met at The Social during the 10 Years show. I had over purchased tickets for Weapon thinking I may want to sell them, but it was much better having friends join us. Bob courageously took part in some of the moshing activities during Killswitch Engage and I was extremely jealous, but alas saving my body for the intense jumping I was about to do during the main event. And jump and scream I did for Disturbed's entire set. I have never been so pumped at a concert, I think it was the shock of being so close to David Draiman.
This was our first time catching Lacuna Coil live. We have loved this band for a few years and own their entire catalog. Seeing them live was a real treat. They only played about 6 songs but it was worth it just to hear how great they sounded. The group wasn't really into Chimaira and I must confess they are not one of my bands, but they were good. Killswitch Engage was awesome and I really appreciated seeing they live, they had so much energy and played much harder live than their albums.

I do have to admit that I get pleasure from reading your weblog, even when I do not agree with you. I guess the primary thing is to make people believe. One of these days I'll get around to beginning a weblog. It will almost certainly be much more for blowing off steam and much less useful than yours is although. Keep writing and I will maintain reading through.
