Chevelle, 10 Years, Adelita's Way at the Shoreline
Every few years a band comes along that just blows your mind. That's how Mark and I feel about 10 Years. Needless to say seeing them twice in three months was not enough, I had to make it three times. Quite honestly, this is a band that I love so much I would consider following them around the country just to hear there music live. I still find it difficult to say whether it's their great song writing, emotional vocals, catchy guitar riffs or spectacular drumming--but all of these things combined make this band one of a kind.
So it's actually true that I drove all the way to South Carolina to see this concert. After hearing Chris Iorito play at The Social I was researching the band Adelita's Way and noticed they were continuing their tour with 10 Years in Hilton Head AND it was the same weekend Mark would be away AND I would be all alone with nothing to do. AND they were touring with Chevelle which we LOVE and have seen 2 other times, AND Mom had told me that HHI was only 6 hours drive as Bruce and Diosa live there. WELL, I just couldn't resist driving up to see this DREAM concert, it was a no-brainer.
The AWESOME line up:
Adelita's Way opening with Chris's blistering guitar solos
10 Years pumped and in great form. Jesse really rocked this show and I was right in front.
Chevelle. Spectacular as always and I even got to hear them warming up around 530 while Mom and I were eating.
It was an incredible concert at a great venue. I had the good fortune of arriving really early and making a bunch of new friends including one of the waitresses who showed me the back entrance. I avoided the long lines, walked in the back entrance once the doors opened and made it in first. I made a beeline to the front of the stage where I met some friends Mom and I had met earlier during dinner, Tim his son Tim and Jordan. The four of us watched the concert until I had to get off the floor about 5 songs into Chevelle because the moshing was getting a bit rough.
During the 10 Years set, I caught Jesse's sweat rag, pretty amazing really. Now I just have to figure out what to do with it. After the show, I made it over to the merchandise booth to chat with the bands. I said hi to Chris who graciously said he remembered me. I finally met Brian (10 Years) and asked him if he writes all of the songs and guitar riffs which he does, also told him how much Mark and I loved his playing and playing their songs.
Talked to Chris from Adilita's way about the new album coming out. I mentioned I met him at The Social and he was kind and said he remembered. Anyway I got this AWESOME photo of him on stage playing.
