Adelitas Way in Tallahassee
We LOVED the show in Tallahassee. They sounded amazing at Floyds Music and it was a much more relaxed and intimate setting then the rowdy mess at Planetfest. This show was officially number 9 for me. I have to keep a running list now because there is no way I can keep count. Alas, the guys are heading for a series of mid-west dates with Breaking Benjamin so we may have to do without for a while. We are getting spoiled in Fla.
We made it into Jax around 5 and checked into our hotel which was right across the street from the venue. After putting on warm clothes we headed to the venue to say hi to the guys. We chatted with Creighton out back and I mentioned to him that we had met at The Social when Leo Project opened for 10 Years. Rick came out as we were chatting and we got fresh shower hugs, he smelled all clean and seemed ready to rock.
Pam, Carie and headed out to make copies of the band email sheet for the remaining series of shows and then gabbed a bite to eat before the doors opened. When we got inside Pam fixed up the merch table, got a spotlight from the venue, taped up one of the new shirts and organized everything. She's a pro at working the table.
The show was fantastic it sounded great and Rick could be heard really well. We stood on Keith's side which is just a great place to be. He is so fun to watch he has all these great expressions and he really gets into it. You can just tell he is having a great time up there and it's infectious. He seems to feed off the crowd. The louder we scream the more he loves it, then that makes us scream louder. It's so fun. We learned that Keith and Rick are working on the melody now for a new Christmas song. So excited about this!!!!!!
Creighton is great and we know what a terrific guitarist he is from Leo Project. He looked like he was having fun up there and certainly expressed to us later, that he was really happy to be playing with such a great group of guys. Hope he knows he also has a great group of fans already, and that he'd better get used to seeing us this week .
After the set we got lots of hugs and had some great chats with the guys. Everyone was out this time except for Tre. I really liked Damien and Gabriel from Aranda, they too seem like really cool really down to earth guys. Tomorrow night I'm picking up a CD and getting it signed. I also chatted briefly with Lizzy Hale. She really is as nice as everyone says.
Later on, Pam Carie and I were sitting outside smoking and Rick came out to hang and we all just talked for a good while. We saw them in the morning as they were leaving as well but unfortunately I didn't get to chat due to a work call. Overall this was a really good show for us and except for Fort Walton, probably the most time we got to spend with the guys. If they go a few months without coming to Orlando we are really gonna have some serious withdrawals. We are getting use to them being here in Florida and Florida really loves them too.
