Adelitas Way w Chevelle and Three Days Grace- Savanna GA
Another girls roadtrip. Ali, Carie and I trekked to south Georgia for our favorite rocker guys. Officially logged as my 15th show, there is nothing quite as fun as getting together with good friends and seeing Rick and the guys. Although roadtrips can be a bit painful, they are always fun and result in great stories.
This story started on what was supposed to be a 5 hour trip but resulted in over 7 and almost missing the Adelitas Way set. Luckily we know how to rush and we made it to the floor JUST in time for the show. Rick's signature band set up song "Party All the Time" by Eddie Murphy was already playing as Ali and I pushed our way to the front.
We were delayed on the trip due to snow bird and spring break traffic heading northbound on I 95. Luckily , thanks to Google maps traffic reports, we avoided what was completely stopped traffic for miles and detoured via route 25. The epiphany came when Ali checked the showtimes and the realization set in that we might not make it. We still had to grab food, check into the hotel, put on make up and change our clothes. We stopped for a rush dinner and beauty makeover at subway about 5 miles outside of Savannah, then made our way into downtown Savannah. The hotel was right next door to the Savannah Civic center where they guys were playing so it made it all really quick and easy.
The set was awesome, the guys really played well to the huge crowd. The Civic Center sat thousands of people. It was a small older arena. The entire show was general admission but everyone had a choice to stand on the floor or head up to the seats or both. The floor was packed even for the AW set and the seats ended up just less than half filled. It certainly was a big audience.
After the set we made our way back to the merch table to see the guys where we hung out for a bit. For Chevelle, I wasn't fighting my way back to the crowded floor so we headed up to the high seats. After the Chevelle set while Three Days Grace was playing, Sam and Pete from Chevelle came out and I got photos with them. That was one of the coolest parts of the night.
We watched a bit of Three Days Grace, while also hanging with the guys a bit. After the show, we hung out at a local restaurant, and we got to meet Neil and Brad from Three Days Grace. That was very cool as well.
Overall it was a great concert, we had a blast especially after the show hangin out.
